Terms of Service

Effective date: 1 April 2026 · Last updated: 7 April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, connecting a Google Analytics 4 property, or otherwise using Tag & Analytics Audit ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Tag & Analytics Audit is a SaaS platform that connects to your Google Analytics 4 properties via the Google Analytics Admin API and Data API using read-only OAuth access. The Service performs automated configuration audits, generates reports, and provides recommendations to improve your GA4 implementation. We also crawl your website to validate that tags fire correctly and consent mode is configured properly.

Audit results are advisory in nature. They are intended to support your analytics team's decision-making, not replace professional analytics consultancy, legal compliance review, or your own validation.

3. Accounts

You must sign in using a Google account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under your Tag & Analytics Audit account. You must have the legal right and appropriate permissions to connect and audit each GA4 property you add.

You must not share account credentials with third parties, or connect properties you do not have authorisation to access.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Misuse Google APIs or violate Google API Services User Data Policy.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
  • Use automated scripts to scrape or bulk-access the Service outside of documented APIs.
  • Upload credentials, tokens, or data that you do not own or control.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations.
  • Resell, sublicence, or redistribute audit reports as a white-label service without a separate agreement.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its audit methodology, scoring algorithms, interface design, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Tag & Analytics Audit. You retain ownership of your GA4 data and audit reports generated from your properties.

You grant us a limited licence to access your GA4 property data solely for the purpose of performing audits and generating reports as part of the Service.

6. Pricing

The Service is provided free of charge. There are no subscription fees, per-audit charges, or paid tiers — every feature, audit module, and export format is available to all users at no cost.

7. Refunds

The Service is free, so there are no payments and therefore no refunds.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tag & Analytics Audit and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunity, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

Audit results reflect our automated analysis at a point in time. We do not guarantee that following our recommendations will produce specific business outcomes, resolve all tracking issues, or achieve regulatory compliance.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tag & Analytics Audit from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights, including connecting GA4 properties you are not authorised to access.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. The Service is free, so there is no billing period to wind down — access ends when you close your account or revoke its access to your Google account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, misuse Google APIs, or engage in activity that threatens the security or integrity of the Service. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before or promptly after any such action.

Upon account deletion, we will delete your personal data, revoke stored OAuth tokens, and remove audit data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Dispute Resolution

Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at support@example.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may pursue resolution through the courts specified in Section 11.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should discontinue use and cancel your account.
